The Flathead Valley Green Building Guild was formed by a group of local builders and subcontractors who share a vision of efficient, healthy building materials and methods. While Green Building has become an institution in our construction industry, our small group of local craftsman, craftswomen, independent/general/and subcontractors have gathered monthly to advance their knowledge towards the best methods and materials becoming available to us and our clients as options.
After hosting a workshop featuring introductions to LEED and Energy Star rating systems, the Guild became one of the leading forums for green building ideas and information in the Flathead Valley. The best practices and most recent studies and reports from the building science community, presentations from local contractors regarding indoor environmental quality, non-toxic finishes, moisture and mold prevention and remediation, structural systems, and a wide variety of services are all considered in an ongoing forum in which people have opportunities for questions and concerns.
